life as a farmer
most of the people in ancient china were farmers. they lived in a small village with approximate of 100 families living there.most of the work was done by hand. mostly the poorer people would work as a farmer because that the only thing they could work at. they also owned chickens, pigs and sometime an ox or a mule. the people who lived on the north side normally grew crops of meat or millet and the people living in the south grew rice.
houses in ancient china
rich people lived in large wooden houses set around the courtyard, the roofs were normally made of tiles and built in a curved shape. although in a rich house there were only a little amount of furniture. they cared more about their garden then the house. poor peoples houses were generally just one room. the house was made of mud brick, the roof was usually made of thatch.
