foot binding in ancient Chinese times were very common. for around ten centuries women as children would get their foot broken and shaped in a way that they resembled hooves. it started in the five dynasties and ten states were an emperor had a favorite concubine ( a dancer) she would bound her feet in a hoof-like shape and would dance on the locus. because she was the emperor favorite the other concubines imitated her so they could be the emperors favorite too. because all the women copied what she was doing it spread to everyone getting their feet bidden after all it became as a traditional thing they had to do when they were at the age of 4-6. some poor people also had bidden their feet and their children feet themselves to change their social statues.

women clothing in ancient china was very important to them. people who were higher class wore fine fabric, however the poorer people wore cheaper fabrics were the touch of it feels rough. most of the women wore tunics with belts. majority of the people wore the hair long as a belief that their hair was a gift from their parents and they thought it'll be disrespectful to cut it
